July in Grenada

We spent a very happy July in Grenada. After returning from the UK at the beginning of the month we found our boat safe in the yard, and it was launched in a few days, newly antifouled and with some other jobs done. Days were spent popping into town on the route buses, visiting friends, going to the cinema and of course doing jobs on the boat.

Little did any of us know that a few weeks later the island would be devastated by hurricane Ivan. These pictures have a special poignancy therefore as Grenada is so different now, though its beauty and charm will return.

Here are some photographs taken of gardens during a 15 minute walk from the dinghy dock in Prickly Bay to a local Chinese restaurant. The varied and vibrant colours are typical of Grenada.
